CASE STUDY

THE SITUATION
The Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier was doing a major renovation on their flagship theater, The Yard. The envisioned plan for the venue was to create a space that could be configured for both large theatrical performances and more intimate productions alike. The theater wanted to create movable seating towers that could be arranged to fit the needs of the production, and be easily changed.
THE SOLUTION
Flexible Design
Seating towers could be easily rearranged to accommodate different shows.
Easy to Move
A team of 3 stage technicians can easily move the 35,000 lb. towers in 15 minutes.
Smooth Operation
The Air Casters float smoothly, eliminating damage on board equipment.
The Result
By utilizing Air Caster technology, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater was able to create the theater space they envisioned. With Air Casters under the seating towers, stage technicians were able to move the 35,000 lb. towers using only 3 people, eliminating hazardous wheels in a cost effective way.
